Figma is the industry-standard tool for interface design, and they are extremely generous with students. Instead of a watered-down version, they give you the full Professional Plan for free. This is the exact same plan that professional designers at top tech companies use, which normally costs $12 to $15 per month.

How to Get this Offer?

Getting verified is a two-step process: verifying your status and then upgrading your team.

Step 1: Sign Up & Apply

• Create a free account on Figma.com if you haven't already.
• Go to the Figma Education Application Page.
• Select "Student" and fill in your details.
• Verification: Figma uses a system called SheerID. If you have a school email address (like .edu), use it—verification is often instant. If you don't, you can upload a document like a student ID, transcript, or tuition receipt.
• For Bootcamp Students: As of late 2025, you cannot self-verify. Your bootcamp administrator must verify you. Contact your course provider if you are in a bootcamp.

Step 2: Upgrade Your Team

• Once verified, you aren't done yet! You must explicitly "upgrade" a team to use the free features.
• Create a new team in Figma (or use an existing one).
• Go to the team settings and look for the plan section.
• Choose "Upgrade to Professional".
• On the checkout page, you will see an option that says "Choose Education Plan" (showing $0 cost) because your account is verified. Select that.

Note: If you skip this step, you will remain on the "Starter" plan with limits, even if you are verified.
